Pigeon Pose (Modified for Hip Flexors)

Iliopsoas, Rectus Femoris, Piriformis

Description

Start in a tabletop position. Bring one knee forward and extend the other leg straight back. Drop your hips to floor. Focus on pressing the front of the back thigh towards the floor.

Progression

Deepen the stretch by walking hands further forward, actively press the back hip down

Feel sensation

Stretch primarily in the hip flexors of the back leg.

Common mistakes

Twisting the back leg, collapsing to one side
